The filmmaker walks through the heart of  Old Cairo. From the gardens of the Mausoleum of the revolutionary 20th century leader Saad Zahloul, she wanders the streets and encounters various characters: Nesrine, who runs a shelter with over a hundred cats; Layla, an elderly music teacher; Khaled, who feeds stray dogs; and Ammar, a muralist from the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. In a tapestry of spectral and real images, her journey is one into herself, into memory, into the need to find meaning, to connect with others, with the weak, the vulnerable, those adrift. In the final act, she visits a kindergarten in Cairo with orphaned children from Gaza, Palestine.
